Canal Army soldier! The heat of your work will melt your prison term. The Motherland expects all citizens to contribute to the five-year plan and your task is to construct the White Sea - Baltic Sea Canal. Complete it in time and you will be considered reforged. However, there are traitors among you who will strike and sabotage the work. Make use of supervisors to find them and correct them. Trust nobody!

Gulag is a deduction game with the classic concept of hidden identities. Add to this the double objectives of loyal workers trying to complete a task and disloyal workers trying to sabotage the same. Complete with the semi-hidden information where each players knows one player and is known by another player and you have a paranoid gameplay. All this for 5-10 players but only 18 cards!

Gulag was designed for the 18 card Microgame Contest. It is related both by art and by mechanisms to the micro games Comrade and Politburo.

Gulag has been awarded Red Stone Seller at The Game Crafter in recognition of a good number of sales.
